Abstract

This study explores the concept of enhancing students' speaking skills and its beneficial impact on communicative competence (CoCo). By investigating the positive impact of classroom interaction as well as other (what other be specific) approaches for improving students' speaking proficiency. The study aims to enhance students' oral proficiency, develop strategies that align with their speaking abilities and level of achievement, and promote interaction among students, the teacher, and the course material. Based on the findings of this study, it is hypothesized that creating effective interaction in the classroom will greatly contribute to the teaching process and lead to increased speaking proficiency among learners.

Prateet Baskota, an alumnus of M.Phil.in ELE from KUSOED, Ambassador to Cactus Communications and World Literacy Foundation 2021, International Representative of Navakiran Home, Nepal Snehi Kaakha, TNEG-Netherland, and Board of Reviewer for SAN-Nepal & ELTAI-India (JELT), Editor for WCC KUSOED and Abstract Reviewer for HERDSA, Australia. 2021/22 MPhil in ELE NEB Dissertation Grant Award winner. Published 1 collaborative book, 7 blind peer-reviewed articles from different National and International Journals (1 from MSU-USA, and another is in review process...), 1 book chapter, 2 book reviews, 3 different writing works, and completed 2 different projects like Independent Study and Dissertation. Besides I worked as a voluntary reviewer for 12 different blind-peer-review Journals like Emerald, Sage, Springer Nature, and Taylor & Francis.

Ghulam Ali Buriro, Professor, Institute of English Language and Literature University of Sindh, Jamshoro

Dr. Ghulam Ali Buriro works as a Professor at the Institute of English Language and Literature, University of Sindh, Jamshoro. He has done PhD in Applied Linguistics. He has the singular honor of representing Pakistan in the most prestigious IVLP Program of the United States of America. He has done Diploma in Education from International Institute of Education, Los Angeles, USA, One-year Course in ELT from Cambridge University, U.K. and a Certificate Course in English Language Teaching Skills from Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand. He is an illustrious name in International Speakership as he has presented around one hundred on-site and online talks. He is an active researcher with 68 research publications to his credit. He remained Editor of the International Research Journal of Arts and Humanities for six consecutive years. He currently contributes as an Associate Editor of four research journals published in Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and Nepal. Dr. Buriro is also a key position holder and member of 21 reputed international academic, research and professional organizations. He has also received 12 international awards. His areas of interest include EFL speaking anxiety, intercultural communication, oral communication and presentation skills, qualitative research design, EFL pedagogy, teacher-learner autonomy, ELT syllabus design, ELT material development & language policy and planning. Dr. Buriro also possesses 11- year administrative experience as he has served as Executive Secretary, Advisor and Secretary to six Vice Chancellors. Above and beyond, Dr. Buriro is widely known as a highly powerful classroom teacher with dynamic personality, stupendous spirit, unfailing energy level and super-perceptive intelligence -- traits that enable him to motivate audiences to move beyond their ordinary limits and achieve extraordinary successes. Most recently, he has been announced as a proud recipient of Exemplary International Educator Award 2024 by Empire Elegant Education Malaysia and Greece. The award will be conferred upon him on the 28th July instant.

Punam Thapa, School of Education, Kathmandu University, Nepal.

Punam Thapa, before enrolling in the Masters of Philosophy in English Language Education program at the School of Education at Kathmandu University, worked as an English Language Teacher at Everest Secondary School and Kshitiz Boarding School in Lalitpur. She is a researcher, research article writer, and motivational speaker. She works as a freelance researcher, an M.Phil. research scholar at KUSOED, and a member of the Nepal English Language Teaching Association. Now she resides in London, Ontario.

Wafa Mansoor Buriro, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Sindh Madressatul Islam University, Karachi Sindh

Wafa Mansoor Buriro is an Assistant Professor and coordinator of Bachelors and Masters programs at the Department of English, Sindh Madressatul Islam University Karachi, Sindh. He has done his MS in Applied Linguistics from NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi in 2019 with the highest score among his batch. Earlier, he had completed his BS in Applied Linguistics from University of Sindh, Jamshoro in 2013 with the distinction of first position along with silver medal. He is engaged in his doctoral dissertation writing currently. He has over a decade of teaching experience at university level. Mr. Buriro has authored and/or co-authored 14 research papers which are published in various research journals of national and international level. He has translated four books. His research interest lies in sociolinguistics, language ecology, and lexico-morphology. Currently, he is currently working on an HEC-Pakistan funded NRPU project as a Co-PI. He is also the Managing Editor of Sindh Journal of Linguistics (SJL).
