Linguistic Forum – A Journal of Linguistics acknowledges the growing presence and influence of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools in academic writing and scholarly communication. While these technologies offer significant potential to support research and publishing workflows, they also raise important questions about authorship, accountability, and academic integrity.

To promote transparency and uphold scholarly standards, we require authors to explicitly disclose the use of GenAI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GrammarlyGO, or similar platforms) in any part of their manuscript, including writing assistance, data analysis, translation, or image generation. Such disclosures should be included in the acknowledgments or a separate disclosure section.

Authors are reminded that they bear full responsibility for the integrity, accuracy, and originality of all content submitted, including any portions generated with AI assistance. GenAI tools must not be listed as authors under any circumstances, in accordance with international publishing standards.

Peer reviewers and editorial board members are also expected to maintain transparency regarding their use of GenAI in the evaluation process and to ensure that AI assistance does not compromise the confidentiality and objectivity of peer review.

As GenAI technologies continue to evolve, Linguistic Forum will monitor developments and update this policy as needed in line with recommendations from bodies such as Elsevier and WAME (World Association of Medical Editors).
